The Council will advise the city on implementation of the Climate Action Plan, with a focus on representing the interests of previously underrepresented groups. Based primarily on Members’ lived experiences and perspectives they’ve gathered from their communities, the Council will give feedback on proposed City actions, including neighborhood-specific projects, buildings and energy projects, stormwater projects, public health projects, and transportation projects.

Hello! My name is Natasha Barthe and I’m the Haitian-Creole language access connector for the City of Medford. My role as a language access connector is to help individuals with limited English proficiency get access to important information or services in Medford. My goal is to facilitate communication and understanding between people who would otherwise be unable to communicate effectively due to language barriers. I find fulfillment in being able to help people overcome language barriers and feel more included in their community. When I’m not working, I like to take road trips with my son, bake cookies, and read a good book, my favorite one is the Bible. |

I am excited to be part of this incredible team that aims to help our multilingual residents access all of the resources and services available in Medford. Hello Everybody! My name is Lizette Carteiro. I’m cochair of the Climate Equity Council and the Spanish language access connector for Medford City Hall. I am honored to be a part of this wonderful community and to be able to give back. My objective is to be able to connect people that are restricted in the English language. Helping people feel comfortable, understood, and have a sense of belonging within the community is something I strive to achieve and for individuals to be able to have the benefits, opportunities, and local resources we offer without restrictions. I always interact with everyone with the feeling of treating others how I would like to be treated. A little kindness goes a long way. While not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, my pet bunny Oliver / Puppy Nala, and making Art. I hope to meet all of you very soon. |

I am passionate about building a community that connects all of the diverse groups living here in Medford and ensuring that everyone can get the services they need to feel included. I find that the best reward in life is helping people to get what they need and I will always try my best to find a solution that helps everyone involved. When I have some free time I like to go on hikes in the Fells or play basketball at my local park. |
