Who We Are

Mayor Michael McGlynn created the Medford Energy Committee (MCEC) in Novemeber 2010 to augment the city's effort to become a municipal leader in energy efficiency, conservation and renewable energy.

The Medford Energy Committee has taken on the work of the Medford Clean Energy Committee and the Medford Energy Task Force.

Our Mission

Our mission is to promote policies and actions that improve energy efficiency, encourage conservation, and increase the use of renewable energy to meet our present needs while considering future generations of the Medford community.

• A 100kw wind turbine provides 10% of the power needs of the McGlynn Middle School
• Solar panels in Medford supply electricity for City Hall and lights at Hormel Stadium
• Over 290 Medford residents purchased renewable energy through GreenUp™
• Plans are underway to install $100,000 worth of additional solar panels
